Welcome to our the Michaelmas Fair! When we
began all those years ago, who would have believed that it could grow into what is now a much awaited event in the Winscombe Calendar. Last year’s event raised over £4,000 - which helps to keep our old building in good repair.

This is your village event so do enter the various classes - it is great fun to do and even better if you win! Come along, enjoy the day and let’s hope the sun will shine.

The Show doesn’t happen without a great deal of effort on the part of the team and the many helpers so a very big thank you to them. We are always looking for new people to join us so whatever time you have to spare, please contact me. It is great fun to be involved and you will meet and make new friends.

Follow last years roaring success, the evening barn dance will be back! It will start at 7.30pm in the marquee, tickets are £10 including a jacket potato supper and are available at the Thursday Market from  Jo or from Dee Davis at the Primary School.

ADVANCE INFORMATION ON SECTION EIGHT – PHOTOGRAPHY 2018
Please read the size requirements for photographs very carefully
Not more than TWO entries per class. OPEN classes are open to all comers. The other classes are confined to residents of Winscombe and Sandford parishes and trophies will only be awarded to parish residents.
There are two sections for prints – adult and junior. Digital manipulation is permitted which remains faithful to the original image in all classes, apart from in class 21 where demonstration of digital/computer manipulation is required.
 
PRINTS: Except for class 16 (Black and white/monochrome photo) prints may be colour OR black and white/monochrome.
 All prints, including those in the mounted collections, should not be bigger than A5 in size apart from classes 18 and  21 (‘Enlargement and the  Computer Manipulated class) where the maximum size is A4
Entries for classes 10, 19, 20, 22 and 24 should be mounted on THIN CARD which can be pinned with drawing pin to display boards. Those for other classes should NOT be mounted.
 
ADULT PRINTS
1. Open:  ‘A good view’
2. ‘City life’
3. A photograph of buildings or architecture
4. A portrait of an animal
5. Open : A photograph that captures wildlife
6. Open: A portrait (head and shoulders only)
7.  A photograph with the title ‘Community’
8.  Open: A close-up
9. ‘Make us laugh!’– a humorous image (caption optional)
10. ‘Through the seasons’ – up to 4 prints mounted on thin card
11. A photograph featuring a silhouette
12. A photograph illustrating a book or film with the title displayed
13. A photograph featuring movement
14. A photograph featuring glass or metal
15. An image of a sunset or sunrise
16. A black and white or monochrome photograph
17. Any other photograph (that doesn’t fit in any of the other classes)
18. An enlargement of any subject
19. Open: A mounted collection of five photographs on any subject but with the theme displayed – this is judged on photographic quality and presentation
20. A mounted collection of five photographs with the theme ‘Lines’ This is judged on photographic quality and presentation.
21. A computer manipulated image made from multiple sources with the original images displayed separately.
 
PRINTS - JUNIOR CLASSES (AGES UP TO 16 YEARS)
22. ‘Once upon a time… ‘– a series of up to 5 photographs that tell a story – mounted on thin card
23. A photograph that features an animal   
24. A mounted collection of up to five photographs on any subject but with the theme displayed. This is judged on photographic quality and presentation.
25.  Any other photograph (that doesn’t fit in any of the other classes)
